Coaches

William Wood

Owner and founder of Willpower Fitness, Will started offering PTs in 2006 before launching the group fitness classes that members know and love in 2009. Will programmes all classes, and coaches the vast majority.

Having competed in athletics and rugby in his teenage years, Will went on to play rugby for Harlequins U21s, followed by a stint at London Irish and finally 3 years at Plymouth Albion.

His qualifications include a Sports Science degree from St Mary’s University in Twickenham, an American College of Sports Medicine (ADSM) diploma, CrossFit Level 1 and a National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) lifting diploma.

As a former 400m and 800m county champion in his youth, Will loves his running and recently combined this with strength training to complete two Hyrox events, both as an individual and in a pair.

Emma Howitt

Em is a PT and coach here at Willpower Fitness, taking the 7am sessions as well as running Women’s Only classes.

She has always been fit and active, having done boxing and circuits before taking up functional fitness over six years ago.

Em has her CrossFit Level 1 qualification and loves helping members and PT clients to improve their physical and mental wellbeing.

One of her favourite things about Willpower is the community aspect, particularly due to the incredible support the members have shown her son Jack who is living with brain cancer.

Em loves weightlifting and gymnastics, and has taken part in many functional fitness competitions over the years, also recently putting herself outside her comfort zone to complete Hyrox.

As well as running The Wood Cafe, Katie coaches some of our 9.30am sessions and organises our KIDFIT and TEENFIT classes.
